Bei den Recherchen zum Billy Bitzer - Beitrag bin ich noch auf weitere interessante Filme aus und über New York gestoßen, darunter dieser hier, der von der französischen Konkurrenz, den Gebrüdern Lumiere, gedreht wurde.
The Lumière Brothers, Auguste Marie Louis and Louis Jean Nicolas
In this approximately 35-second long Lumière Brothers short (Lumière No. 328), the camera was placed at the intersection of Broadway and 14th Street, the southeast corner of New York City's Union Square Park in Greenwich Village. The building seen at the top center of the frame is the Lincoln Building at 1 Union Square West which had just been built 6 years before, and new construction just to the left of that. Policemen direct pedestrian and streetcar traffic along the roads, and we see a number of horse-drawn carts and carriages go down 14th Street.
